1. To prepare Land Use Development Control Plan (LUDCP) for the entire area under jurisdiction of BDA and to enforce the same.
2. To issue development permission under sec-45 & 46 of the West Bengal (T&CP) Act, 1979.
3. To collect Development Charges under sec 45 & 102 of W.B.T&CP Act
4. To estimate land for residential, commercial and industrial purpose for a planned development in the area.
5. To create infrastructure like important roads, drainage system, water supply system, sewerage system etc.
6. To promote Trade, Commerce & Industries in its jurisdiction and provide a balanced and equitable growth in the region.
