It is located in the south part of Bardhaman district, 107 Km north-west of Kolkata Metropolitan area (KMA). The Bardhaman Planning Area consists of Bardhaman Municipal Area and its adjoining villages located in five Gram Panchayats under Bardhaman I Panchayat Samity and two Gram Panchayats in Bardhaman II Panchayat Samity.
